The sun is out, the sidewalk patios are set and festival season is underway. Despite, or perhaps because of, the city’s brutal winters, Chicagoans have a reputation for enjoying everyday of summer to its fullest. There are festivals and events for everyone, every weekend and every neighborhood.
At Skolnik, we have the pleasure of partnering with numerous businesses in the wine industry, so to celebrate those partnerships and a shared enthusiasm for good wine, we’ve pulled together a short list of upcoming, local, Chicago wine events to help you enjoy every last drop of summer.

Lincoln Park Wine Fest – Saturday May 20 – Sunday May 21
Raise a glass and toast the nice weather, and then raise another, and then another. At the third annual Lincoln Park Wine Fest you can sample more than 100 wines from all over the world! Located within the cozy, two acres of Jonquil Park, this festival boasts wine varietals, snacks, wine-related merchandise, sommelier expertise and live music. Details and tickets available here.

11th Annual Andersonville Wine Walk – Saturday May 21
Co-sponsored by In Fine Spirits, the Andersonville Wine Walk takes over the entire neighborhood with two routes, each featuring 13 locations and three unique pours at each stop. The route stops range from local theaters and boutiques to spas and restaurants and all proceeds support the Andersonville Chamber of Commerce. The walk begins at 3pm. Windy City Wine Festival – Friday September 8 – Saturday September 9
Hundreds of wineries, sommeliers and vendors will descend upon the iconic Buckingham Fountain for this summer’s Windy City Wine Festival. The ticket price includes a souvenir tasting glass, your choice of more than 300 wines to taste, seminars and cooking demonstrations, and live music. As vendors in the wine industry, we know that there are few communities as warm and welcoming as winemakers and wine lovers. While we are looking forward to summer, heat and sun are no friends of wine. So, we hope the vendors at these festivals take advantage of the ease, durability and temperature control of Skolnik stainless steel wine drums while they serve the masses.
